I found a spark. Something that was true, and bright. I found a spark. Though invisible, Invisible to my sight. I wandered far, far from home, Under open, vast, free skies. Wandered by rakish mountains, Feral groves espied. I walked on beautiful, placid, barren shores, Returned home to cold weather and an empty house. I spent days studying the fall of my footsteps, I sat, years, Hoping to hear a call. I met strangers who were just like me, Convinced we were nothing alike. I traveled far And traveled near The only place not seen was here. I found a spark. Ugly, bare, and solid spark.

Flight of Flightless Things

The Flight of Flightless Things I stood and watched a sparrow wheel, Not knowing how to walk away. Its path was clear and endless, while A sidewalk goes two ways. Gliding this way, gliding that, Through and up and through. Soles scrapped, and worn, and heavy now, Too many steps I knew. Its feathers caught on errant air, Concrete hard beneath my feet. Wind, invisible, did buoy it, My bones did ache and creek. I saw this bird, In flight so joy'd, so loose, so quick and free. I knew how I had come to that spot, But not how I could leave.

I Saw Myself a Sunset I saw myself a sunset Both splendid so and grand I feasted on its auburn light Its golden hue as sand. Its face aquiver, shimmering In liquid energy. Within a wooded winter hollow, So solemnly filled up with snow, There is no peace, no patient emptiness. Even silence stands. It is in this grove, this place of frost, frozen fast, I find myself, The air alight, ample and dead with thoughts of you. Surrounded as I am now by this endless nothing-somethingness, I wish, I hope for a bloom, A patch of green. Would that I could coax this change, Would that it were warm, Would that free, first life would show, I would change nature's form.

Beneath the arc of a forlorn sun I pleaded with your ghost. Made banquets of ancient memories, Poured draughts of faded kisses as wine And begged for you to play the host. I toasted to echoing sighs, To whispered, needy names, To longing, loving eyes. Calling up your spirit again. I realised I merely spoke to air Yet spoke I did and still, Much blinded to newborn dawn, Of bittersweet was filled, I danced with your silhouette And feasted on the stillborn sorrow of bitter, passed time.

The Turn

Watched the Prestige tonight. It was just as good as I remember it. Now that I knew the secret, I could absorb it purely on a level as a tale of obsession. I hadn't felt the weight of Angier's speech at the end. About how magic is about making people believe, if even just for a second, that the world is more than mundane. I think the entirety of his character arc is illuminated at that very moment, whereas Borden's is ever clear and laid out. A superb movie.

Writing felt so good tonight. A true release. I'm very pleased with my latest work! I hope you enjoy my new Dev ID too. I really wish Chase were on here so he could show off some of his work. He's already sold some prints through his old job; apparently he had a couple of photos scanned onto canvas and those sold very well. He really loves his art and I'd love to see him grow! Ahh, and now off to enjoy the rest of my night to some Haydn. Exquisite.
